Train Your Brain with 101 Mastery!

Looking for a fun and effective way to learn and practice math?

Whether you’re a kid mastering the times tables or an adult keeping your brain sharp, this app helps you build real math skills — no speed pressure, just solid knowledge and progress.

101 is fun

NumNum is played in a similar way to MauMau - but with special cards and new rules.

The rules are very simple:

- You have to discard all your cards as quickly as possible. Then you win.

- You can discard if the color matches or if the number is in the same 101 row as the last card on the discard pile.

- If the card matches twice - i.e. if the color and number match - you may discard again, as long as you can discard cards that match twice.

- If you know the little 101 well, you have a better chance - and not just with NumNum!

🎓 Why Kids Should Know the 101 by Heart

  • Foundation for All Math
The 101 (times tables, basic arithmetic, etc.) forms the bedrock of everything in math — from fractions to algebra.
  • Boosts Confidence
When kids can recall facts quickly, they feel smart and capable — that confidence carries over into other subjects.
  • Frees Up Brainpower
If the basics are automatic, the brain can focus on solving complex problems instead of doing simple calculations.
  • Saves Time on Tests
Quick recall means less time crunch and more chances to check answers and avoid silly mistakes.
  • Helps in Real Life
From shopping to cooking to splitting bills — math facts are used daily. The 101 makes it second nature.
  • Improves Problem Solving
Knowing the basics makes it easier to spot patterns and apply logic to new situations.
  • Lays the Groundwork for STEM
A solid grip on the 101 opens doors to science, technology, engineering, and more.

🧠 Why the 101 is Great Brain Training
for All Ages

  • Mental Agility Boost
Recalling basic facts quickly keeps the brain sharp and responsive, like a mental workout.
  • Strengthens Memory
Regular recall strengthens neural connections — great for short-term and long-term memory alike.
  • Improves Focus
Drills and repetition improve concentration and reduce mental distractions.
  • Fights Cognitive Decline
Especially in older adults, practicing the 101 can help maintain mental clarity and delay decline.
  • Encourages Lifelong Learning
Revisiting the basics can reignite curiosity and open the door to learning new skills.
  • Quick Thinking in Daily Life
From budgeting to measuring or estimating time — fast mental math pays off everywhere.
  • Satisfying Sense of Mastery
There’s real joy in knowing something “cold” — no looking it up, just instant answers at your mental fingertips.

Tips & Tricks

The grouping of the balls can have an extreme influence on the score, e.g if you have 60, 20, 40, 30 in a column:
* Removing all balls at once results in 4 x 10 = 40 points
* If you first remove 20 and 40, you already get 20+20 = 40 points, then the 60 drops down and is now above 30, which results in a further 30+30 points, i.e. a total of 100 points compared to 40.

For example: a matching ball like 25 is not a neighbor of maybe 50. Try to make the 25 and 50 neighbors by removing other balls so that you get 25+25 points.

Each ball gives 20 points, but they must be in the same row

Be careful when removing the last balls, sometimes the order and grouping determines whether all the balls can be removed

For each ball you receive 2 additional bonus points, e.g. removing 5 balls with the common factor 7 results in
5 x 7 + 5 x 2 bonus points = 35 + 10 = 45 points.
